SUCF VACANCY – SPORT & ENGLISH EDUCATION TUTOR

Salary: £28,000–£32,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Location: Garon Park, Southend-on-Sea
Contract: Full-time
Southend United Community Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sport & English Tutor to join our growing Education team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our 16–19 Study Programme, combining specialist GCSE English and Functional Skills delivery with the opportunity to contribute to our BTEC Sport programme.
We are developing an education programme that uses the power of football and sport to engage young people while maintaining high expectations for academic achievement, personal development and progression.
The role will include:
– Delivering high-quality GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English
– Supporting learners to make progress from their individual starting points
– Contributing to BTEC Sport delivery where appropriately qualified and experienced
– Working collaboratively with vocational tutors, football coaches and learner-support staff
– Helping embed literacy through sport, coaching, employability and wider learner activity
– Supporting learners with different abilities, backgrounds and support needs to achieve their potential
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strong English subject knowledge and teaching experience who are passionate about engaging and developing 16–19-year-olds.
Experience within further education, sixth form, alternative provision or sport/football education would be particularly welcome.
